How to Heal Wounds Faster With Essential Oils

How to Heal Wounds Faster With Essential Oils

The use of essential oils for healing began in the 1940s with three medics in France. The chemist Rene-Maurice Gattefosse, Dr. Jean Valnet and the biochemist Marguerite Maury separately demonstrated the healing powers of the oils in treatment for wounds. Follow these steps to heal wounds faster with essential oils.

1

Clean the wound using two cups of warm water with a mixture of five drops of the essential oil of
lavender
and two to three drops of tea tree oil.

2

Use the essential oil helichrysum around a wound, not touching the wound. This accelerates the healing process, and is especially helpful in reducing bruising.

3

Use essential oils as antiseptics for treating wounds. Almost all the oils have antiseptic qualities. Thymol, a powerful antiseptic, comes from thyme, and was discovered by Dr. Joseph Lister-the Listerine man.

4

Use cold-pressed oils from your health food store as carrier oils for placing essential oils for healing directly on wounds. Olive and evening primrose are good carrier oils.

5

Dilute a few drops of essential oil in a teaspoon of the carrier oil. Then place the oil on gauze or a bandage before putting it on the wound.

6

Ask your doctor's permission first if the wound requires stitches. If the doctor wants you to wait, you can still rub the oil around the wound to reduce scarring and make the wound heal faster.

7

Reduce scarring by using essential oils. The faster a wound heals, the less scarring it will leave. Essential oils quicken the healing process.
